We begin the weekend with a toast. We shopped our way to Harrisville, with stops at Fabric Fair in Bay City, Ben Franklin in East Tawas, Sunshine Quilt Shop in Oscoda, and a side trip to Hollyhock Quilt Shop in Harrisville. We made a difference everywhere we went. Then we worked until the wee hours every night.
We started with painting, then quilted, then mosaiced. Our new members were inducted into the Mosaickians tribe. Then we made dolls, that began as self portraits, but morphed into ???
Babe was a newbie this time. I think she really liked the trip. She never stopped smiling, and even chose our new group song, “We’re here, because we’re here, because we’re here, because we’re here…”
She made a painting for the Earth Challenge, a doll, two mosaics, a quilt, and spread infectious enthusiasm.
Kathie was a new addition to our group for the weekend. She worked on the beautiful art quilt, painted an Earth Challenge picture, made a mosaic mirror, and a doll.
Nan worked on her exquisite cross stitch, and made jewelry to wear to a wedding, as well as painted an Earth Challenge picture, and made a mosaic mirror.
This is what I did on my summer vacation. None of these are counted yet.
Goodbye from the Baguettes of the North. We got little sleep, lots of laughs, much work done, many stash additions, and want to do it again.
