Baguettes Winter Getaway is Over!

We sewed quilt blocks, dyed fabric, journaled, danced, chose special names, bound books, made mosaics, ate delicious food,(made by Rick,) cut stencils, embroidered, drew pictures, looked at art books, talked a lot, showed photos of grandkids, assembled quilts, played Quirkle, ran up and down the steps, petted the dog, traveled back and forth, made more mosaics, laughed, and had a great time. I am waiting for pictures, since my camera was always on the wrong floor. Will post some soon.

See the new gadget on top??? Now you can subscribe to this blog, and get it every time I post. I promise not to post 8 times a day.

USArtquest design team

I recently became part of the USArtquest design team. This is a group of fiber and mixed media artists, working with products made by USArtquest . We are given a challenge of making art based on a theme or size, using the products, within agreed limits. For February we used Gildenglitz, Dichro Fiber, and studio cloth.
I made this 3d fish, cut from studio cloth, and placed on a quilted fabric. The seaweed is Dichroic Fiber. The scales have Gildenglitz for shine. I also used Mica Flakes on the fins and tail.
I like that the studio cloth is so sturdy, yet soft. I cut many slits in it, with no fraying. This challenge stretched me a bit, feels good.

This was my January USArtquest project. It’s a pocket for my tablet computer, made of Studio Cloth. The USArtquest paint is terrific, it stays soft.
